Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited (UPSL), a subsidiary of Kohler Co., and the exclusive supplier of PowerWAVE UPS, generator and emergency lighting products, changed its name to Kohler Uninterruptible Power (KUP).

Kohler acquires Pure Power Systems.

UPS Ltd exhibit and present at the premier event for Data Centre professionals responsible for running and building datacentres, the most influential gathering in the Asia Pacific.

2014

UPS Ltd introduces Battery Monitoring solutions, offering clients the most advanced UPS and battery monitoring solutions available today.

2013

UPS Ltd publishes the 4th edition of the UPS Handbook – the power protection industry’s highly respected guide to understanding, designing and implementing UPS and power protection systems.

2013

UPS Ltd launches the 500 kW modular UPS, the Kohler PW 9500DPA, which can be scaled both vertically in 100 kW modular steps to 500 kW, and horizontally up to 3 MW.

2010

UPS Ltd opens its first global sales office in Singapore.

2008

UPS Ltd is acquired by Kohler Uninterruptible Power Group, a global leader in engines and power generator systems. At the time, Dick Fotsch, Kohler Uninterruptible Power Group president, is quoted as saying: “Bringing Kohler Uninterruptible Power into our Power Group is an appropriate extension to our business. As we seek to become a full ‘systems’ supplier in the worldwide power generation market, Kohler Uninterruptible Power’s incredible maintenance and service reputation in the uninterruptible power supply category is a strong complement to providing complete power solutions for our customers.”

2007

UPS Ltd launches the Kohler PW 9000DPA – the 2nd generation of the company’s highly acclaimed three-phase modular transformerless UPS products.

2006

Building on its reputation for quality, Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd certified to BSI EN ISO 9001:2008, The company follows this by gaining certification for environmental procedures ISO 14001 and health & safety procedures OHSAS 18001, and is recognised as an Investor in People.

2005

The company is bought by members of the management team backed by Barclays Ventures.

2002

The company extends its service capability across the UK to further cement its reputation of uncompromising service excellence with its customers.

2001

The company launches the first three-phase transformerless, modular UPS in the UK.

2000

UPS Ltd publish the first edition of “The UPS Handbook”. The book, which is now in its third edition, is an all-inclusive guide to understanding, designing and implementing uninterruptible power supply and power protection systems, and has sold almost 30,000 copies worldwide.

1999

UPS Ltd introduces the first three-phase transformerless & parallel technology uninterruptible power supply into the UK power protection market.

1998

Rapid growth in business leads to a move to larger premises at Calleva Business Park, Aldermaston, UK, which is now the location of UPS Ltd global HQ.

1997

Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd (UPS Ltd) is established by five founder members, and begins operating out of a small office in Theale, Berkshire, UK
